Requirements:
·
You must be at least 14 years and 6
months on the first day of class.
·
You must currently be enrolled in a
high school or middle school in Wake County (public, private or Home School) or
be a Wake County resident currently enrolled in a high school or middle school.
·
This must be the first time that you
have taken Driver Education in North Carolina.
·
To sign up for an after-school
class, you must follow the guidelines for registration at your high school.
·
For after-school classes, turn the
completed form in to your high school.
To sign up for class
at a location other than a high school, or for class at a school other than the
school you attend, follow the directions listed under the class name. You must be able to arrive on time each day,
and you must attend all scheduled dates.
State Law requires the entire 30 hours of class. Be sure to indicate on the top of the form,
which class & school. A printable
registration form is at the bottom of the schedule below.

THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE IS FOR THE 30
HOUR CLASSROOM PHASE. It does not
include the driving phase.
THE DRIVING PHASE:
Approximately 6 weeks after
successful completion of the classroom, a driving instructor will call you to
schedule your 6 hours of Behind-The-Wheel.
The Lead Teacher at the High School assigns students to their driving
instructor. If you have questions
regarding Behind-The-Wheel, contact your Lead Teacher.
REMEMBER, WE DO NOT DRIVE WITH ONE STUDENT.
YOUR ATTENDANCE AT EACH DRIVING SESSION IS VERY IMPORTANT.
IF ONE STUDENT DOES NOT SHOW UP, THE OTHER ONE CANNOT DRIVE.

Registration Form click here - print the form and
fill in by hand. Your High School may have additional information attached to their
forms. If possible, obtain a form from your
high school to insure that you are getting all available information. You should return the
after-school Registration forms to the appropriate location at your school.
Remember, you must be 14 years & 6 months on the
first day of class. You can submit your form earlier, but we will not
assign students to class until they reach the appropriate age. We do not hold registration forms from one
school year to the next.
For classes other than after-school, or if you do not
go to the school where you are trying to register:

(Please do not include a cover sheet and
write across the top which class & location)

yourself.
